Holiday Wish List

stolen magnet
Long time, no blog.  Yep.  See below.

1. Satin Sleep Pants. I hate sticking to the sheets at night.  Last night I slept in thermals and I woke up with the sheets untucked at both corners. I hate that.

2. Fluffy, soft, cushy house shoes.  I have four pair, but they have all seen better days.
3. YARN.  Always want yarn.  Nice, high-quality yarn from our local pusher. I really need to clean out my stash so I have more room first, but whatever...magazine subscription?

4. More Buffy.  Yes, I know I have three seasons, but can you ever have too much Buff? I got Firefly for myself and am very excited about that. But Buffy is like that old, comfortable sweater.  Even though I know how the series ends, it's the journey and not the destination.  And "Hush" is in Season 4.

5. Music is nice. DItty Bops, more Datri Bean, Spankers, David Wilcox, Plain White Ts. I love the texture of owning something.  I'm from that kind of family.  We didn't have a lot growing up so it's important to me to "own' something.  I know I can download the music, save the planet and all that, but I love to physically put my hands on stuff.  I also like to read the liner notes.  I wonder wouldPandora.com would categorize my taste...Concert tickets maybe instead of a cd?

6. Spa day.  A nice mani and pedi so my toes and fingers will shine for the new year.  Maybe a massage or facial.  Aromatherapy.  I'm not sure that I want to do this alone.  I think it would be fun to do with a friend(s).

7. Time. I want more time and opportunity to spend with my friends.  I want to visit friends I have't seen in a while.  I miss my uncle in Chicago and I haven't done anything about it.  I starting knitting scarf for him 18 months ago and it's still not done.  And I miss my Gay in Tulsa.  And my other friends there.  The ones with and without kids.  The one with my other cat.  I miss my mom and Marybeth and that feeling you get when you're surrounded by the familiar? I have that here, but it's not the same.  My mom makes it special.  And she cooks better bacon than I do. And I want the time to go through all my stuff and get rid of several layers. It's just stuff.

8. Jewelry is always nice. I'm a big fan of clothes and shoes, too.

9.  I want to find my sunglasses.  It's Oregon and closer to the sun.  It just seems brighter.  Lasics maybe?

10. A House. I want a place to call my own with wood floors and a fire place.  I want some place where I can paint and paper and carpet or not or knock out a wall or expand or contract. Some place where I can unpack all those boxes I shipped here 2 years ago and haven't opened since.  I want a place with a bathroom big enough so I can have my makeup close to a sink without crowding the medicine cabinet. I want a place where there is a place for everything so when friends visit, I'm not hiding things in the closet.  I just need to finish that application, but I'm so frustrated about my non-existent down-payment (thank you market) that I hesitate to apply.  I hate being told no.

There's also this...
I had most of my holiday gifts delivered by Harry and David.  It worked out really well except that my dad has terrible manners and didn't call me when it was delivered. When I called to confirm that the items had been delivered I got an earful of how they celebrate x-mas so don't bother saying happy holidays.  It was pretty weird.

My brother's family was really enjoying the chocolate-covered cherries.  I actually had a conversation with my sister-in-law which isn't weire, but not the usual.  My bro wasn't home so we actually chatted about the weather, plans for the holidays, a few friends we have in common.  It was kind of nice.  Though weird because she said they were going to harass me about living in a state that voted to support assisted suicide.  To which I said "we voted that in? wasn't on my ballot, but good for us!" Not sure that's what she expected to hear.  Hehe.

My mom loved hers.  She got a snowman full of goodies.  It looked cute and she said she put it in her front window (after emptying the contents).  I'm really excited she's coming to visit again in February.

We sent a fruitcake to the would-be in-laws.  Apparently they liked it, but we're not sure if they tried it.

Cody got a package from his Granny last week.  It also had fruitcake in it, but I am sure that it wasn't the same one we sent them.  It smelled really funny and was the wrong color.  Not sure how many holidays that particular pie has seen, but...
That's it for now.  Gotta work or something.

Mike's brother sent us an inflatable fruitcake. It's awesome, because we don't have to pretend that we ate it and liked it.
